After Christine Marie Holloway failed to show up to work, her coworkers grew worried and requested a welfare check on her. After two attempts, authorities forced their way into the residence. Once, inside authorities described a grisly scene. Christine was found deceased with obvious blunt force trauma. After processing the scene officers realized, Vanessa Morales should have been on scene but was missing.
A silver alert was issued immediately and Vanessa was assumed to be taken by her father, Jose Morales. Two days later on on December 2, 2019 her disappearance was elevated to an Amber alert where it remains active today.
After a search of Jose's home, police found tasers and due to his past as a convicted felon, he was held on charges on possession of an illegal weapon.
Jose's past indicated he was a repeat violent offender:
June 24, 2012- At 1:30am a 911 called was placed to alert police that there was a scuffle between a man and woman. When the caller (the woman's mother) entered the room, she indicated the man was pinning her daughter to the floor and threatening to "I'm going to break all your bones." After speaking to the victim, police were able to determine the victim had a previous and active protective order against Jose. They took him into custody for the violation.
October 1, 2012- A police officer witnessed a man grab a woman( holding a stroller) maliciously, to which she tried to remover herself from the situation. When she broke free, the man attacked her again when the officer intervened. Jose then yelled to the officer indicating he was doing nothing, but trying to talk to his girlfriend. The incident revealed this woman was the same one that suffered an attack back in June 2012. He was charged with Breach of Peace, violating his parole. He was sentenced to 3 years, serving only 9 months. He was released on probation to carry out 2 years.
There are no records to indicate Christine pressed charges at any point of their relationship, but it does not mean, there was no abuse prior to her murder. The details of their relationship remain unclear.
On February 7, 2020 Jose was charged with the Murder of Christine Marie Holloway and tampering with evidence. Police indicated the found bloody clothing and rags that contained the DNA of Christine, but that Vanessa's DNA was not present. They also have stated that Jose was definitely the last person to see both.
Hope remains that Vanessa is alive. She was seen by a neighbor with Jose entering a car on Saturday November 30, 2019. Missing from the residence was a diaper bag, car seat, baby toys, and a polka dot comforter. See below....
