MISSING-Lauren Dumolo Missing Cape Coral, Florida

Updated: Jan 18, 2021

Lauren Dumolo (29) was last seen on Friday June 19th at her apartment in Cape Coral, Florida by her live-in boyfriend. A few miles down the road, at Four Freedoms Park, her purse was found the same day.

Also on the same day she went missing, a man said he saw Lauren around 8 am and waved to her. He said the day before he had spoken to her. She was asking him about an available apartment because she “wanted to get out of the situation she was in”.

On Father’s Day (June 21) Lauren did not call her father, which is unusual.

“Every Father’s Day, she’s never missed calling me. And that’s when I really knew it was bad because I didn’t hear from her.” — Lauren’s father, Paul Dumolo.

On June 23 she was reported missing. Police went to her apartment and did a wellness check, and that’s when her phone was found to be at her home. Her missing status was upgraded to “endangered missing” on July 24.

“I’m heartbroken, and I’m scared. I want her home safe. I want to hold her. I want to hug her.” — Paul Dumolo

On July 2 her family, who had been searching the park daily, found a shirt of Lauren’s at the same park her purse was found at. It was in the sand but did not appear wet like it had washed up onto land. Since they were searching the park daily and had never seen the shirt their before, Lauren’s family believes it may have been put there recently.

The shirt was turned over to a forensic team who searched the area more and dug in the sand. They did not find anything though. Cape Coral Police Department says divers have searched for Lauren in the water near the park, not getting much more evidence.

Lauren’s live-in boyfriend, Gabriel Pena, has a theory. He thinks that she went out with a friend who “got her all messed up on drugs, and I don’t know what after that.

“I’m worried. I’m worried and scared. Not scared, because I didn’t do anything, but I’m just worried something really did happen.” — Gabriel Pena

Lauren is 5’0’‘ and 110 pounds, with light brown hairwhich is dyed blonde and brown eyes. When she was last seen on June 19th, she was wearing a T-shirt and shorts. She has several tattoos: “Namaste” on her right side, a symbol on her wrist, a “NY” symbol on her pelvis, and rosary beads on her ankle.

A Marco Island businessman has donated a $5000 reward on top of $3000 reward from Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers for info leading to Lauren's return.
